Save a Facebook recipe before the feed swallows it
Send a recipe post or Reel from Facebook into Stokd and keep the ingredients and steps as an editable recipe.
FROM FACEBOOK, ON IPHONE
Five taps, start to finish.
Facebook recipes usually arrive secondhand: a Reel on the feed, or a post in a cooking group that forty people have commented on. Neither is findable a week later. Sharing the post into Stokd takes the recipe out of the feed before it disappears.
- Step 1
Open a recipe post
Tap the share arrow on any Facebook Reel or recipe post.
- Step 2
Tap Share to…
This opens the iOS share menu.
- Step 3
Add Stokd to Apps
Tap the green plus next to Stokd in the Apps list.
- Step 4
Choose Stokd
Stokd opens with the post ready to import.
- Step 5
See it in My Recipes
Your imported recipe now appears in your recipe list.
WHAT TO EXPECT
What Stokd keeps.
- What imports
- Posts where the recipe is typed out in the body import well. Group posts that are mostly a photograph with the method in the comments are worth a check after importing.
- Worth knowing
- Posts in private groups you belong to may not be readable, because Stokd fetches the post independently of your session.
- Editable
- Every imported recipe is a draft. Review the title, ingredients, quantities and steps, and change anything that does not match how you cook.
- Counts towards
- Your weekly import allowance. Stokd Free includes 5 a week, and chef ranks raise that at no cost.
ON ANDROID, OR FROM A BROWSER
Paste the link instead.
The share sheet above is the iPhone route. Anywhere else, copying the link and pasting it into Stokd does the same job.
- Step 1
Find a recipe
Browse any food blog, magazine, or cooking site. If it has a recipe, Stokd can import it.
- Step 2
Copy the page URL
Tap the address bar in your browser and copy the full URL of the recipe page.
- Step 3
Open Import in Stokd
Tap the Import button on the home screen, or go to the URL Import tab.
- Step 4
Paste and import
Paste the URL and tap Import. Stokd extracts the ingredients, steps and cook time in seconds.
QUESTIONS
Facebook questions.
Why did a group post not import?
Posts in private groups are often not readable outside your own session, and Stokd fetches the post independently. Public posts and Reels are the reliable case.
The method was in the comments, not the post.
Stokd reads the post itself, so a recipe that only exists in a comment thread will not come across. Copy that comment into the recipe after importing.
Does this work on Android?
The taps shown are for iPhone. On Android, use Facebook's Copy link option and paste the link into Stokd's URL import.
OTHER SOURCES
Save from somewhere else.
SAVED, THEN WHAT
A saved recipe should lead somewhere.
Once the post is in Stokd it can be checked against your pantry, turned into a shopping list of what you are missing, and cooked from step by step. See how the whole loop works.
